About the Author

Michael Dunlap is an Atlanta-based real estate investor, home builder, author, motivational speaker, and addiction life coach. As an author and addiction life coach, his focus is to help others overcome addiction by tapping into one’s potential despite difficult upbringings, past afflictions or any other odds. 

Dunlap is an ex- homeless addict, who was addicted to drugs and alcohol early in life but was determined to get clean. He led a dark life of addiction over 15 years.  He even went to several drug treatment centers and continued to relapse upon release; this was a continual cycle. Until he became sick and tired of struggling with addiction and decided to make a drastic change. When Dunlap made the decision to get clean, he was successful and has been sober and free from addiction ever since, celebrating over 30 years of sobriety. He dedicated his life to help others who struggle with addiction. 

Dunlap uses the tools that freed him from addiction as an example, to help others who want to be clean but can’t or won’t go to a treatment center. The vital tools Michael used to overcome drug addiction are debuted in his new book entitled: How To Beat Addiction Without Going To A Treatment Center. 

Dunlap has an intervention business called Big Mike Hardcore Intervention.

He created this business with the vision of bringing an effective systemic intervention to families in crisis, nationally and soon internationally. He has a unique "no surprises" ‘hardcore’ "tough love" approach towards intervention very different from most, which has proven successful time and time again.

Dunlap also founded a non profit named Recover In The Streets. Where he goes back to the streets to help those that are still suffering with addiction. 

Dunlap’s current work includes dealing with alcohol addiction, drug addiction, treatment guidance and placement, depression, family intervention, crisis work, homelessness, food addiction, internet and gambling addiction, sex and pornography addiction, just to name a few.

Michael Dunlap’s appearances include The 700 Club, Atlanta Live, Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasting, Boys and Girls Clubs, and numerous churches.
